Harj is in the process of separating himself from the marketing team that is likely responsible for spamming your site. Currently there is a nasty legal battle ongoing in federal court. Hopefully the truth about the entire matter will come to light soon.

This is the latest thing among spammers. I operate a forum, and I have to purge a few of these spam emails every day. I even turned on verfication requirements upon signing up. That helped eliminate about 80% of it. But some of them are still posting. That tells me there's actually a person clicking the verification link and then logging in to post spam. Get a friggin' life, is what I say to these people.

Here's a little insight I probably shouldn't share. Whenever I get one of these posts, I trace it back to the originating site and blast them with an angry email about how low they are. Unprofessional, unproductive, but it makes me feel better.

Frustrating is not even the start of it! I don't see why people who do this don't understand that everyday people are sick of SPAM - even on forums. It is not an effective marketing technique if you want to convey trust.

That's so frustrating. Not only is it obtrusive, but it can't produce the results they really want. As soon as I receive things like that or have issues with a company like that, I do exactly what you just did in broadcasting it and how can it really be worth it to get this much negative publicity?
