BiggerPockets is Packing Up and Moving!

utah.jpgThe more astute among you have no doubt noticed that I have not been posting my usual comments on the blog the last few days and I thought I owed you…my loyal fans…and explanation.

In a moment of weakness, I decided that it would be a good idea to move out of Los Angeles for a while. It seems that scientists have found evidence that all of LA will soon be floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Fearing a life marooned in the isle of LA, I will be relocating in the safest place on earth to be when the polar ice caps melt and the sea levels around the planet rise another 23 feet . . . Denver, Colorado.

What are the odds that the oceans will reach a mile up?? I’d have to say from slim to none.

Over the course of the last week, I’ve been packing my belongings in preparation for my family and my company’s (BiggerPockets) new life in the thinner atmosphere of Denver. I guess we’re all Denverites now, or whatever else they may call us.

Over the next week, my posting on the blog may continue to be spotty, but just think of the fresh new perspective I’ll be able to offer you all after finally escaping from the plastic surgery capital of the US!

One more thing . . . If you’re ever thinking about taking a nice leisurely drive from LA to Denver, I highly recommend doing it in 2 days. It is not an easy ride. On the other hand, while desolate and sometimes frightening, driving I70 across southern Utah might just be the most beautiful ride in the country. Check it out!

Hey! Welcome to Colorado. I live in beautiful Denver and we’re excited to have you. Let me know if you want to get together – I’m pretty plugged into the REI community here.

Welcome to Denver. You’ll love it. Well, just as soon as it stops snowing up here.

Hey, Myself and a couple of buddies were just laughing about the LA isle a few days ago. I think you’re onto something… Keep up the good work! Suggested next move – Sunshine Coast, Australia… Like Florida, but less people, no aligators but Crocodiles…and the home of (the late) Steve Irwin and his Family and Zoo.

Wow! That’s awesome. I’m about an hour south in Colorado Springs. I’m sure you’re finding plenty of house for your money compared to SoCal eh?

Welcome to CO!

Hey everyone! Thanks for all of your kind wishes. I’m extremely excited, and can’t wait to get out there for yet another snow storm! Maybe Siberia was a better idea?

Let us know how things go for you in Colorado. Big change from SoCal but I’m sure you’ll be able to unplug from the network of traffic and overpriced housing!

Congrats on the move — I’ll be interested to see if the change in altitude has any affect on your views on the real estate game. Good luck!
