Help Rehab the Mississippi Gulf Coast this Holiday Season

by Joshua Dorkin on December 10, 2007

The following is a plea from someone in my family and I thought I’d share it with everyone. Many people have asked what can they do to help others during the holidays. . . here is a great idea:

Katrina ReliefKatrina’s is NOT over. There is still a need for volunteers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Many people are still living in FEMA trailers or homes in great need of repair post Katrina. We need volunteers who are comfortable working on a jobsite helping to rebuild or rehab homes. Trained construction crew leaders patiently teach basic skills and supervise volunteers.

Now through December 20 and throughout January, we have lots of room for volunteers.

Adult volunteers

Youth volunteers

Thanks for considering this plea and many, many thanks for all that you have already done to help the recovery and rebuilding on the Gulf Coast.

I have heard quite a bit about these volunteers still being needed. Its disastrous to hear that this kind of help is still needed, what a tragedy Katrina was. Thanks for the link, so i can get involved.
