In the UK repossesions are up 50%, new mortgages are down 70% and the middle classes are starting to suffer with increased mortgage debts.

It's not easy.

WOW!!! These articles are scary. We are even seeing our share of some foreclosures and short sales here in Santa Barbara CA and we are a pretty affluent area. I am sure in many areas it is much scarier. Hopefully it will not turn out to be as bad as presumed in this article.

The expected wave of Alt-A foreclosures makes the new Housing Rescue Bill even more absurd. People who have Alt-A mortgages have better credit histories and are more likely to qualify for the ridiculous short refinance provisions of the Housing Rescue bill. It's just another example of the government throwing good money after bad.

I don't know what to say...This hard and long crisis has just begun. We all believe that there always be rainbow after the storm. But the question is who will be able to survive and see the rainbow...

The government is "trying" to help bail out the housing chrisis, but it won't work if people can't get loans. The lending industry is changing to rapidly. I mean, they need to reform, but the average middle class citizen still needs to be able to qualify for a loan.

We'll be visiting this topic for a while.

It reminds me of the tsunami that hit in the Indian Ocean a couple of years ago. It wasn't so much the height of the wave, but the sheer volume of water sucking just about everything out to see. And it didn't happen like in the moview with a giant wave crashing ashore in a matter of seconds. It is a bit more slow and a lot more painful to watch.

That does make my skin crawl. Good God I really hope that is not true. With the war, gas prices, inflation and the mortgage crisis I am not sure how much more our economy can take.
