Home inspections are a must must must. As you said, the home inspection can be used as a tool to get further price reductions or to back out should the home seem to not be a good deal at that point.

I would rather pay for the home inspector before I make a purchase of this size than find out a few years down the road that the home has major problems and or defects. I believe Title insurance is a good plan when buying a home as well.

Home inspection has a big role in purchasing property. In this you will know how far can you go with the negotiation.

Yes you are right and I totally agree with you. I don’t want to pay that much for the home inspection. We have to be smart.

I would like to suggest that a home inspection is always worth the cost. Especially here in higher cost areas such as Montecito and Santa Barbara CA. Buying and selling homes that average in the $1-2 Million range makes $400 for a home inspection seem trivial…which it is in our markets.
