People make the most money when they buy at/near the bottom of the market not like in the recent boom when many bought in 2005 and 2006. In addition you always have the possibility of rental income and actually enjoy it. Northern Rock shows the risks of not investing ion bricks and morter are even greater. You have diferrent aereas in Spain with the same result, if the location is very good, the quality and the services the market is OK. In our case the luxury villas above 1 millon € is selling and the prices are not decreasing. But you must now the aereas, for example the Costa Blanca, only a little part of the North Costa Blanca is a good investment. I reply simply because in the whole of Europe there is only one place where property values are holding their own and not falling (yet) is the South of France Cote d'Azur so it's probably the safest property investment at the moment. The reason behind it is oil.
