Real Estate Video Marketing Done Right!

From our own experience, very few strategies have worked quite as effectively as real estate video marketing. There’s just something about this form of advertising that gets viewers fully engaged and willing to take action. I’m not any type of psychological genius, but it seems to me that using video and being authentic have a powerful effect on helping people to let down their guard.

Prospects don’t want to be tricked into anything, and many have been burned before. Perhaps this also has something to do with our culture conditioning us from age 3 and up to be leery of salesmen and other forms of pushy tactics. For example, remember watching Looney Tunes, and there was always that sleazy cat that came to promote something from Walla Walla Washington (start video around 4:25)?

I rest my case. You see, real estate video marketing works so effectively because everybody already loves to watch TV, movies, etc. For further proof, check out Youtube’s staggering statistics for yourself. Plus by using this strategy, you will be able to quickly build trust and rapport, because you will make your marketing a lot more personal. This works far better than being the man behind the curtain.

Yet, so many times people can go about producing their video content in the wrong way. A lot of us don’t like to be in front of the camera, so when that little light turns on we tend to freeze. I think one of the main reasons that this can occur with real estate video marketing is that we are trying to be too perfect and professional.

Instead, your goal should be to establish a bond with your audience and just show them that you’re real. Pretend as if you are speaking to one of your best friends when you turn on that camera. The more relaxed and confident you are, the easier your viewers will be able to relate to you.

As one of our own members recently found out, having fun and producing interesting content can have a positive impact on your business. In fact, he just released this on November, 10th and it already has more than 2,500 views!

Here are a few real estate video marketing tactics that Dennis implemented:

  • A property “run through” for those with short attention spans
  • Randomly falls to create an amazing pattern interrupt which keeps people engaged
  • Introduces himself in the beginning and offers a face with the name
  • Beautiful call to action at the very end
  • Plus, Dennis also makes sure to engage with his community as they ask questions

Of course, this type of marketing may not attract everyone, but it will certainly help bring in those leads that will probably be better to work with anyways. And by stepping away from the “normal” way of doing real estate video marketing, this listing has now gone totally viral!

Video marketing is definitely one of the best marketing strategies that someone could implement, and as Michael Fox, founder of Shoes of Prey said “We’re still in the process of picking ourselves up off the floor after witnessing firsthand the fact that a 16-year-old YouTuber can deliver us 3 times the traffic in a couple of days that some excellent traditional media coverage has over 5 months.”

Way to think out of the box! (both Dennis & Mark) Always looking for better, more creative ways to market, and both of these ideas are fantastic. Love the way Dennis also references the link to the slower, more “professionally” shot video for those who might want it. Now I need to find a YouTuber like Mark hired.
