I had been reading about making money with real estate for some time, when I came into some money from the passing of a relative. Not knowing what to do with this newfound money I figured it was as good a time as any to get into the real estate world. I've always been fascinated with the premise of landlording, and decided to take the plunge. I bought a duplex for $150,000 and have not regretted it since. The property has had some minor problems, but I can't complain since it is positive several hundred dollars a month. I think I'll get the courage soon to find yet another building. For anyone thinking about buying real estate, but afraid to do so, I say go for it. If you keep putting things off, you'll never get them done. I love talking to my friends about my investment!
