I am a former corporate attorney and recently quit my job at a large law firm for personal reasons, mostly related to lifestyle change (the 100-hour weeks weren't doing it for me anymore). I'm searching for a new job but have been lucky to have saved a decent amount of money. I've always been interested in real estate and have begun reading lots about real estate investing. I am looking to get started with a few investments and seeing if I can eventually go full-time with this, perhaps combining it with a law practice advising real estate investors.

I'm a newbie, so my goals aren't as grand as they may be for more seasoned investors, but for this year, I'd like to purchase a rental property and to start doing some hard money loans.
