I’m Jane, a semi-retired real estate expert with years of knowledge and experience. I’ve done it all: marketing, showing, selling homes, staging, informing!! I’ve been an agent, staging professional and broker, and at the end of my career I was a FSBO fanatic. After years in the real estate biz, I’d come full circle into seeing the value of giving homeowners back their power.

Don’t get me wrong: while I was an agent, I worked hard. But after years of taking home a large paycheck, it hit me that I wouldn’t want to give up a percentage of my home’s value that I didn’t have to. So why should the average homeowner?

That’s when I met Buy Owner. This company singlehandedly revolutionized the way I see real estate. It’s all about marketing your home effectively and being informed, and Buy Owner puts the power back in the hands of the owner.

For a little more background about me and how I made my fortune (LOL): When the housing market hit its height, I was lucky enough to personally buy and sell 7 properties, all on my own, in just a few years. I found these properties through FSBO listings, totally on my own. I made enough money with my FSBOs to last into retirement.

For a long time, home sellers thought they needed realtors to put up signs, make brochures, determine asking prices and hold open houses and other stuff. In exchange for these services, sellers would hand over a big chunk of the sale. But in today’s competitive selling market, homeowners should know that they can do it all themselves—and save a lot of money!

If I had sold my properties through realtors, the profit margin would have been extremely different. That’s why I’m a big believer in the FSBO way. And that’s why I’ve started my blog (www.fsbojane.com).

Enjoying the good life now, I divide my time between teaching classes at a local community college, playing with my two golden retrievers Buddy and Daisy and growing a garden. And I’m a Chicago native, so of course I love rooting for those Cubbies!
