How To Succeed in Anything in Life – Don’t Do This And You’ll Fail… Every Time!

A couple of days ago, I was watching a presentation by a very successful business building consultant and he said something that prompted me to write this article.  Why?  Because the very same success tip he talked about has allowed me to be where I am at right now in my business.  I want to share this success “secret” with you today.  However, I hope that it will hit you like a ton of bricks and you’ll “just do it”.  But why am I calling it a secret?

Because way too many real estate investors, agents and business entrepreneurs don’t take action on it.  I strongly believe it is one of the biggest success killers.  It almost seems like a secret because too many people don’t do it.  If you do anything and I mean anything in your business today, take some time and develop what I am about to share with you.

I promise you that if you do it, you’ll be less stressed, less frustrated, less confused and more successful, richer on many different levels, clearer and happier.  Do you want to know what it is?  Well, let’s get to it.  But before I reveal this strategy, let me ask you a simple question?

Think of a time when you were going to a concert, a party, an event, a real estate seminar, a graduation party, birthday party, anything really that you were excited to be at.  You knew that once you were at that event, you’d have a lot of fun.  But there was one problem?  You didn’t know how to get there, you didn’t know the directions.  In today’s world, you would pull out your GPS or Mapquest to get the directions.

But what did people do in the old days?  Listen to me, in the old days, they would pull up a regular map, mark the spot of their current location and the destination.  Then, they would look at the overall picture and start mapping out THE BEST COURSE of travel to their destination.  They would start from the destination and work their way back to the current location.  Once they completed this process, they would look over their travel route to make sure it was the the best and the fastest way to the event.

But why am I telling you this?  Let me ask you another question then?  When was the last time you did that in your business?

When was the last time you mapped out a detailed roadmap to your success?  In fact, have you mapped out the road to your success yet?  If not, do it RIGHT NOW!

Think about it, what would happen if you never laid out the travel route to your destination you have never been to?  You would get lost, right?  The destination that would normally take you 45 minutes would now take you several hours and in some cases, you would probably NEVER get there.

Well, the same concept applies in the business.  If you never lay out the “travel route” to your business destination, your end goal, your financial freedom, you WILL get lost and probably NEVER get there.  Think about it.  In your daily business, are you focused, clear, with purpose and know exactly what you need to do to succeed?  If not, get the map out.

So, here’s what I want you to do.

Pull out a piece of paper and start to lay out out your route to success.  Be as specific as you can be.  For instance, if your goal is to make $500,000 a year in the next five years, by investing in real estate, how would you get there?  Start from the end and then work your way back.  How many deals a year would you have to do to achieve that goal?  Then, how many deals a month, then a week, and so on.  How many calls would you have to make to get a deal done?  How would you need to market your business, your properties?  What would you need to do, step-by-step to achieve that goal?  Map it out and then take action on it.

Remember, clearer you are about your goal, your destination, your route to get there, more successful you’ll be.  This is what separates most successful entrepreneurs from those that go around in circles.  Once you lay out your yearly, then monthly and weekly action plan, you’ll know exactly what you need to do to succeed in your business.

I hope that my article hit you the right way.  I hope that you fully understand the importance of this process and that you take massive action implementing it in your business.  Because if you map out your road to success, you’ll succeed and arrive at your “success party.” 🙂

Then, when you arrive at your “success party,” make sure you invite others to it.  Better yet, tell others about this right now by re-tweeting it using the green button at the beginning of this article.  They’ll thank you for it.

To Your Success,

Peter Kolat

P.S. One last thing, remember to re-evaluate your plan on continual basis.  Why?  Because everything changes and you need to adjust to those changes.
