Learn How Five Real Estate Investors Did their First Investing Deals

by | BiggerPockets.com

A few weeks ago I started to experiment with video once again and created a new channel for BiggerPockets on YouTube. The goal was to use this medium to help spread the vision of our site, to educate our members and visitors, and to share useful and entertaining real estate-related videos. My friend Vlad thought a great use of the medium would be to put together a group project for BiggerPockets and as a result, we came up with the share your first real estate investment deal group video project.

I realize that this is a new medium for many of our members, and the response wasn’t as huge as I would have liked, but I am happy to say that we got some great videos that we wanted to share with you. After watching the videos below, please be sure to follow the links to these member’s profiles and check out their websites. I want to thank all of them for taking the time to share their stories for all of us to learn from and enjoy. Without further adieu . . . .

  1. Hi Josh,

    I like this idea.
It is nice to see video content on BP.
The video content helps to create a connection between the reader/viewer towards the investor.
I had some earlier video content on my blog and will be soon adding some more video content.
    Again, great idea!

    All the best,
    Neil Uttamsingh.

  2. Josh,
Thanks for the mention! I am very happy to see these videos. Each one of them will go on my blog as well.

Maybe you can encourage grater participation by the Bigger Pockets members by adding YouTube player to their profile that can pull in their latest video – I am sure a good coder can come up with something like that. Doing so will be mutually beneficial for every one – members get more views on their videos, BiggerPockets becomes even more “media-rich” website.

Cheers! Keep up the good work!

  3. I think this is a very valid topic. My first investment has gone very well, the only down side is with the hits the automobile industry took, the property has been break even since I bought it.

I have since gone onto buy 24 more investment doors and most with much greater success, but that lesson of not buying in a one company town has stuck with me. I now seek properties in towns with more varied industry and if possible a center of higher learning nearby.
