4 Tips for Surefire Business Success

Did you ever wonder why some people seem to find success in everything they do? Are they just luckier than the rest of us? I don’t think so. What may seem like luck to many people, actually boils down to a few principles that these folks execute  with great precision.

Successful people know exactly where they are going before they begin.

You need to crystalize your vision not only for business success, but also for your ideal lifestyle you want to achieve.  Being  clear on your ideal lifestyle is critical. If your financial security and business success come at the expense of sacrificing your personal life, is this really what you want?

Successful people have a plan.

Not just any plan, but a detailed plan that they turn into a roadmap to follow. This doesn’t mean that these folks are afraid to alter their plan if they see a better way. Changes and adjustments will always be necessary along the way.  Part of any plan should include anticipating obstacles you are likely to encounter and ways to overcome these hurdles.

Successful people always execute the plan and see it through.

These are the people that do what needs to be done even when they don’t feel like doing it. They are also the folks that keep calendars, plan their day the night before, and use things like time blocking to stay on track. If they lose their focus, they are quick to get it back. They are likely to be very organized, or have someone they work closely with that is.

Successful people always follow up.

A lot of people are great at starting things, but those with ultimate success are always the “last ones standing”. What I mean by this is that they continue to execute their plan long after others have stopped. They don’t get swayed by the “shiny object syndrome” and start chasing after the next big thing. They stay on their path with focused effort, making adjustments as necessary.

They follow up with prospects, make sure their marketing stays on track, and they nurture and build relationships. In time, they become an expert in their field seemingly without a lot of effort. But it is just these habits that make them successful.

Someone once said, “The harder I work, the luckier I get”. I hope to change that saying to, “The smarter I work the luckier I  get”.

  1. It really is simple isn’t it! Just define your vision, make a plan and then TAKE ACTION. Strange and Sad how so many people miss the last part. Then there are those who take one step and get discouraged and never follow though. Breaks my heart that so many people quit when they are only 3 feet from success.

  2. This means questions that ask who, what, where, when, and how as opposed to those that can be answered with a simple yes or no. This form of questioning opens up the discussion and shows listeners that you are interested in them.

  4. Most people say that in order to be successful, you need to be industrious and patient. Yes that’s true, but the most important thing is knowledge. A successful person must know what is the right thing to do at the right time.

  5. Sharon, I couldn’t agree more These are the same things I do my best to follow every single day of my life. It’s easier said than done but once you get used to it and get the hang of it, it really works. This is truly the formula for SUCCESS (in business and pretty much in life as a whole).
