Jaren is the senior creative director of REtipster.com, an online blogging platform that teaches people how to invest in real estate. He remotely runs a full-time land flipping operation based in Florida and is actively pursuing his first apartment building.

Jaren is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Indiana, an experienced wholesaler, and one of the world’s leading experts on the land flipping business.

His highlights include helping scale a wholesale company from eight to 12 deals per month to averaging over 25, starting his own successful land business, and more importantly, teaching dozens of others how to do the same.

He started his journey door knocking pre-foreclosures for a fix and flip company in the San Francisco Bay area, briefly worked on the BiggerPockets team in 2014, and then began his wholesaling career in 2015.

While there, he helped launch and served as co-host for the Simple Wholesaling Podcast, where he interviewed close to 100 of the nation’s highest level real estate investors. Simultaneously, he served as the head of dispositions and oversaw the sale of 450-plus wholesale properties.

He is currently the co-host of the REtipster Podcast with Seth Williams.

Despite how awesome the BiggerPockets Forums can be, I know from both personal experience and the feedback I’ve received from others that because of how much information there is- it can sometimes it can be EXTREMELY overwhelming!

I wanted to ease some of that pain and the “paralysis from analysis” that a lot of new users experience so I highlighted the top 5 forum discussions to follow so you can have easy access and also to provide an overview of the key players on the forums. With that let’s jump into it!

The 5 BiggerPockets Forums Discussions You Really Need to Follow

Every one of the following forum posts has some of the best content on the site. Each has over 100+ comments and function as a great place to jump in if you are new.

1. Real Life of a Real Estate Investor

2. Cat Litter House: Flip # 653 and it Could be the Worst One Yet. Look at the Pics and you Decide.

This is a post from our friend Brian Burke, with pictures showcasing, possibly, the nastiest house around! This is both entertaining and disgusting as Brian shows you clearly what can happen when you buy a house at the courthouse steps. This one is a must read!

3. Diary of a New Construction Project

In the words of Joshua Dorkin,

“In this thread, J is going to provide a practically day-by-day diary of his first new construction project, from acquisition through sale — including pictures, spreadsheets, invoices, bids, etc.”

This is probably one of the most beneficial threads in the entire forum community! J Scott goes into great detail on what it takes to build a house from the ground up. You really can’t be on BiggerPockets and not know about this one!

4. I’m so Excited! I Quit my Day Job Today to do REI Full Time!

This is a very inspiration thread! On June 6th, Brie Schmidt quit her day job and officially became a full time landlord. Here she goes into detail on how she did it, how many properties she has and more.  Feel free to reach out to her and ask her how she did it, what she struggled through, whatever you’d like. This is a FANTASTIC resource!

5. The Truth about Wholesaling!

This thread is still active, and was started back in 2010…. I think that’s pretty much all I have to say lol.

It has some incredible insights on the truth behind wholesaling and separates the fallacy of the guru empire with what really happens. If you are thinking about wholesaling, you really want to dive deep into this thread!

So that’s it! I hope you found this post helpful!
