How a BiggerPockets PRO Account Can Explode Your Real Estate Marketing

Amongst other reasons, we created our BiggerPockets PRO accounts to give members the ability to inprove their marketing on the site. I wanted to write a brief post letting our current and future PRO members know how to best utilize some of the great features that come with being a BiggerPockets PRO

An Enhanced forum Signature, Including Your Company's Logo

I believe that one of the most powerful benefits of becoming a PRO member is having an advanced forum signature. While regular members have the ability toinclude a line of information in their signature, which can include contact information and a website link, this is standard with a PRO signature.

PRO members, get an additional line where they can add any additional information (email, phone and website link are standard), AND best of all, they get their company's logo posted at the bottom of all forum posts, linking back to their company's profile.

This exposure is INVALUABLE for anyone with their own company, or for anyone who is looking to help spread the word about the company they work for. By simply participating on the forums, you get your brand in front of the eyes of our thousands of daily forum visitors.

Easily Find New Leads Using Your BiggerPockets Stats

In the Dashboard of our PRO members is a section devoted to Stats, where our PROs can see that latest visitors to their profile, and blog on BiggerPockets! This information provides our members with a powerful tool for scouting new leads.

Profile & Blog:

Similar to above, there is usually some reason that someone visits your profile or blog. Odds are that you've written something, or you have something in your profile that is of interest to them. By knowing who these people are, you can then get in touch to figure that out.

Contact Made Easier as a PRO

While regular members are restricted to send a PM to those people that they are colleagues with, our PRO members do not have those limitations. A PRO member can send a PM to any other BiggerPockets member (provided they are not blocked by that member), and by using the data I mentioned above, you can really start to work those leads and easily get in touch with people.

That said, we will not put up with anyone using the PM system to SPAM other members. We will not hesitate to remove the PM privileges of any member, basic or PRO, if we determine that you are using the PM system to send unsolicited offers, ads, deals, etc.

Your Profile Highlighted on the Networking Page

Our PRO members get their profiles highlighted at the top of the Networking page. Not only will people get to see your name and location, but also your occupation, a link to your company's profile (if you've created a company profile) , and a link to your website.

More to Come . . .

There are many other features that come with being a BiggerPockets PRO member, that can help with your marketing and lead mining. We'll come back to you and delve into some of those in the near future.

  1. Hey Josh, Just upgraded to the pro account. I have known about you all for a while now, but had never really listened to the podcast. In a few short weeks, I think I have listened to them all. Some, for example, Danny Johnson's, about three times. The current podcast Was fantastic. Thank you for all the knowledge you and other members are sharing. Look forward to engaging on the forums. I did have a question about what topics I might blog on. I consider myself a new investor and was wondering if I should blog through my website or through Bigger Pockets. Appreciate the feedback. Dave Torres

    1. Hay Dave - Thanks for joining and for upgrading. First, staying active in our forums is a great way to build up your network and skills. As for topics to blog on, check out the BiggerPockets Blog -- you'll see that you can write on any of thousands of topics and provide value. That's got to be the goal of writing. If you're just writing copy that is chock filled with ads, no one will care about what you're saying. Again, provide value and you'll see the benefits. As for whether you should blog on your own site or here, why not do both. Blogging on your own site is a great way to build content that may attract visitors, but getting your audience started is always a challenge. Blogging on BP will get you eyeballs because we have the audience . . . if you write what people like, they will end up visiting your site/profile, growing your presence. I could argue for both. Good luck!

  2. Josh? you're a natural Pro by the way you show your sincerity to your subscribers when you reply to their concerns. I just upgraded after you removed my signature tag line because it was to an affiliate link. Could I now use that link to market here? Thank you for all you do. I truly appreciate you and absolutely love BP for REI. God bless

    1. Lucy - Unfortunately, we can't allow you to promote affiliate links here whatsoever. It is just something that is prohibited on BiggerPockets, regardless of whether you're a PRO, PRO Basic, or Free account. You can certainly market real estate deals, financing, and other related opportunities, but you just can't promote any affiliate products or services. Thanks for the understanding.

  3. Steven - You can do that after signing up for our site. Just post the properties to our property directory.

  4. I am wanting to list some properties... A mini mansion / apartment building 50k Cash A 2 bedroom home in Michigan 5k Cash

  5. Emmett - If you post comments while logged on, they will link back to your profile for more PR. Thanks for the kind words. Your comments do mean a lot to me, and prove that participation on BiggerPockets.com will undoubtably bring you traffic. Upgrading to PRO can do even more for you, as I mention in the article!

    1. Hi, Joshua: I just up-grated my account, as you suggested to me yesterday after you removed the ad I had posted. My Question: Is the ad still there, and if so, where can it be seen, or do I have to do it over again? I'm excited about this whole thing and I'm looking forward to great results! Thanks, Joshua. Ilse Shea

    2. Ilse - I typically append the removed post to the PM. You can just copy and paste it as a new post. Welcome aboard and good luck here on the site. Definitely be sure to get active above and beyond posting your ad/solicitation, by connecting on our forums and blogs, as that's the best way to build your business here on BiggerPockets!

    3. Josh, call me stupid, but would you please tell me how I can get to post what I want to say on the Forum and member blogs? I'm pretty new at this and waste a lot of time trying to find out, with no success. I don't have much knowledge when it comes to cutting and pasting. Would you please also tell me where I can put my ad and how to get there?

    4. Ilse - You've been effectively responding to my comments on this blog, so you're doing fine. As for the forums, just click reply and you can respond to people there. Here's a list of all the available forums, so you can select the one that is most appropriate -- http://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/categories. As for copying and pasting, here's a tutorial that should help. Good luck!

  6. Thanks Amy -good luck to you as well

  7. That's a pretty impressive testimonial, Emmett. Congrats on all of your success.

  8. I, for one, can attest to the fact that biggerpockets.com blogs have really enhanced my PR within the search engines. I've gone from PR of 20-30 to, not only the first 10 results BUT I am in the very first position within the "organic" results (FREE exposure) just under the paid ads. Biggerpockets.com has more than quadrupled my traffic in less than a week. I am very impressed. It seems the more I blog and write, the better PRs I get. If you don't believe me or just want to check it out, search Yahoo & MSN for the phrase; "How To Sell Mortgage Notes". Special thanks Joshua for your insight & diligence.
