I was interested in getting into real estate for a while. I put it aside for lack of finding good information. I signed up awhile later, for this forum but put away studying it for awhile again as life got "busy". I'm just now getting back into starting my real estate career and I HAVE to make this work this time! I'm finding out how valuable the information and knowledge of the people on this forum are. Thank you for this service. I know it will become even more and more valuable to me over time. :)

Wow, that's even more impressive Joshua Dorkin. I didn't have time to read through the whole blog to see that but 90K is a pretty solid number. Is the site growing at a faster pace today compared to the past?

Kevin Tunney - As Jon K. said, we're at over 90k members now. If you look through this blog and the forums, you can track the milestones to see our growth rate. Do keep in mind that we probably delete 20%-25% of all accounts that are opened each day because they are just spam profiles. These are not included in our numbers.

I didn't know BP had 50,000 members. That's pretty amazing taking into consideration that its a social network targeted to a specific type of person (REIs). FB is for everyone so its no surprise they're the biggest. But 50,000 REIs all connected is an amazing thing. Joshua Dorkin how quickly has BP been growing in the past couple years? I'm just curious what the growth rate looks like. How many members are you expecting in the foreseeable future?

I am very new at this and, although it seems to be so good for so many, I'm having not much luck getting anything posted anywhere, I have asked questions, but nobody seems to want to explain to me how that really works. I'm quiet frustrated. Ilse Shea

What is the problem, Ilse? If you're unable to post in specific forums, it probably means you need a PRO membership (the site would tell you this) to do so for that forum. The only forums where this is the case are our dealmaking and marketplace ones -- areas where you'd be advertising. Is that what's happening?

Hey Chanda and thanks for the message. One of the best ways to overcome the fear of getting started is to read and learn, but many people get stuck there. The next step is the big one that people miss -- writing up a real business plan. If you can get your plan together, you're going to be one step closer to doing it. Trust me on that. I hope to hear from you in a few months with your first success story!

Congratulations on your accomplishment. I am newer to the site and am finding very useful information posted by other members. I hope to gain enough knowledge and build up enough courage to make the first investment. I've been "talking" about doing this for years, but I have been too chicken and lost to really dive in. I am working to change all that!

Josh Well done on a brilliant site. I started researching US property about 6 mths ago (after realising the oz market is way overpirced) and have learnt more on this site than any of my other resources combined. This site taught me to look harder for good deals, they are out there. Also, the rules I have learnt have been invaluable, as are some of the people I have met. One of your members, Uwe, actually gave me a lead which lead to my first deal in New York. I havent closed yet but am almost there. Thanks Uwe and BP! Josh K :)

And other real estate sites seem to be merging and consolidating in order to bring their sites into a more competitive position, so the need to constantly evolve and improve will always be there.
