Who I Am and How I Got Here!

Hello Bigger Pockets Community! I wanted to start off my new blog with the easiest way possible, telling everyone who I am!

I am a life long resident of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. I am married to my Wonderful and Supportive Wife Melissa, and have a (almost) four year old Daughter Ella along with lots of other family that live in the area and across the state. I have spent my life working in or around real estate. Starting off as a kid working for my father who was a General Contractor and Home Builder. I eventually became a licensed general contractor, and then brought things full circle by partnering with my father to build homes, and a commercial project. I transitioned into real estate sales  in 2009, getting licensed to sell my own properties, but with the local and national market in the recession I ended up selling properties for other buyers and sellers. I have been in real estate sales ever since.

I have always loved real estate from an early age watching my father build and sell homes and always making deals. I purchased my first home when I was 20, rehabbed it and moved in. I then built my first home at 22, moved into it and rented out the other. At this point I was very focused on my general contracting business and less on real estate investing although I still built and sold some homes. I was working extremely hard and everything I worked on was successful and then the market crashed:( along with it my income crashed and I struggled for quite a while after this. I won't get into this too much now, as this will be covered in future posts.

I have had good success since the market recovery, and want to begin investing again. I am rehabbing a rental property that i have owned for awhile and should have that done soon. Next I will be building a few homes, some to sell and others to keep for my portfolio.

Please watch for future blogs to see my projects, hear more of my story, and get an insider look with tips and tricks that I have learned from years in the business!
