San Diego, A top ranked city!

There is a reason San Diego is known as “America’s Finest City.” San Diego has consistent, comfortable year-round weather and is home to the most beautiful Pacific Coast beaches.  Besides being a fantastic place to live, it’s also one of the most popular destination cities in all of America.  In fact, a recent survey sponsored by Business Weekranked San Diego as No. 9 in a list of “America’s Best Cities”; if weather were the leading data point, it wouldn’t be a surprise that San Diego might be ranked No. 1.

Besides the weather, San Diego has an abundance of entertainment venues.  There is the San Diego Civic Theatre located downtown, where top Broadway productions are “live” on stage, and the Valley View Casino Center (formerly San Diego Sports Arena), which has a variety of sporting events along with concerts and entertainment for everyone in your family.

If you love the beach and the ocean, picking which spot to enjoy can be difficult sometimes.  From Coronado to the south, La Jolla to the north and Mission Beach in between, residents and visitors have many choices.  With San Diego’s great shoreline and family friendly sandy beaches, people are always enjoying the seaside throughout the entire year.  Boating, swimming, surfing, kayaking, sun bathing, picnicking and barbequing are a few things that San Diegans enjoy.  Don’t forget there are plenty of places to ride your bike, hike or simply take advantage of the Southern California sun.

Family attractions are everywhere!  On any given day, you will find thousands of residents and visitors enjoying San Diego’s SeaWorld, located on Mission Bay.  Another attraction is the World Famous San Diego Zoo located in Balboa Park.  Besides the Zoo, there are over 15 different museums at Balboa Park such as the San Diego Air & Space Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Hall of Champions.  There is certainly a museum or two that would peak anyone’s interest.

You will never go hungry in the city either. There are thousands of restaurants throughout the city and surrounding communities.  Whether you have a taste for American cuisine, Italian food, Mexican food or many Asian varieties, you’ll always find a great place to eat in all price ranges.  Amazing choices can be found in Downtown - Little Italy, the Gaslamp District and of course historical Old Town.

If shopping is high on your list, you’ll find what you need at one of the several malls in San Diego.  The Fashion Valley Mall and Mission Valley Mall are both located in Mission Valley with the Horton Plaza Shopping Center located in downtown San Diego.  All of these spots are outdoor shopping centers.

With its incredible coastlines, attractions and all around appeal, it is no wonder so many people call San Diego their home.  This is truly a great place to live, vacation and an even better place to retire.  San Diego is definitely is “America’s Finest City.”
