Inexpensive Things To Do When Your Home Isn't Selling

I compare the process of selling your home to going on a job interview. Presentation is one key factor that determines the outcome of selling you or your home. Weird as it may sound, presentation is a way of life in both your personal life and in the world of real estate. Buyers today are not only looking for a "Great Deal" they also look at how the home looks and use that along with other factors, when they make their decision on whether to buy that property or not.

First things first, when a potential buyer first pulls up to your home; the first thing he will see is your lawn and the property itself. If your lawn is trimmed and well taken care of, he will get a good impression right off the bat. If your lawn is a wreck, he may immediately pull away – don’t want them to do that!!!. Another great idea is plant flowers around the walkway, which will look great to a potential buyer.

The front door should be in great shape, as well as the entry area into the home. Easy/inexpensive things to do can be to add some plants, paintings, or rugs that give a "homey" feeling when you walk in the entrance.

Make sure to highlight the best feature of your home, don’t assume that the potential buyer will recognize that feature. How can you do this? One of the most inexpensive ways is to use proper lighting.

Another easy thing is to keep the home as clean as possible. By having a clean home the best features of the property are more noticeable. Also, don’t forget about your garage!!! Over time, most people tend to accumulate items and one of the main storage places is the garage. Before you get ready to sell, try to get rid of as many items from your home or garage as possible. It will also save money on moving costs!

Be aware that it may take some time to sell your home. The time currently for Pahrump is about 2 months. If it is taking longer than that, you can go back to the inexpensive and simple things, or reduce the price. Eventually you will sell your home and your life will get back to normal.
