New York, New Year: Start Spreading the News!

Local New Yorkers have a saying – it’s a tweak on the song ‘New York, New York,’ made famous by Frank Sinatra. “If you can’t make it here, you can’t make it anywhere.” I heard this first from a retired fireman in the Bronx.

What did he mean by that? After all, New York is so expensive compared to many other metro centers. It takes street smarts and guts and lots of heart. But, oh the possibilities.

Why Real Estate Investing?

Real estate in itself is an intriguing business, though if you haven’t delved into the investing side of it, you’re lose out on so many opportunities. I know this to be true. I started out as a novice real estate agent, and now as an investor I can do all the things I love whenever I choose.

Investor niches offer so many great rewards; time for travel (and money to get there); immersing yourself in things that matter (like charities and causes); breathing room in your life for family, friendships, and beloved pets. You get the idea.

Why Invest in New York?

NYC has so much to offer. Sure, it has its ups and downs, but it’s always been a highly sought after destination city for worldwide travelers. Over the centuries the ‘City’ has captured the attention of thousands of newbies with dreams of making it big.

There are neighborhood options by the boatload – stretching up and down Manhattan and crossing the 788 bridges connecting all the boroughs.

Keep appreciation in mind. Flipping houses or choosing a 2-family property for your own home and renting out a portion of it can be good places to start. Landing your own home early is a good move; you’ll have the security of a low mortgage when the market goes up.
