Demo Week

Let me admit my procrastination with our blog postings.   Our demo Day, has become a Demo Week.   And with raising an 18 month old, maintaining our own home, and helping out with the rehab, makes blogging a bit of a last thought, right before bed you think, oh I'll write what we did today....in the morning.   Well first week down, and I've only written one.  So I have a lot to catch you up on.   If you are interested, I will deliver, maybe not daily but surely More recent than this past week.

First and foremost if you are not visiting this blog through our website, please visit to see the pictures and know about what we are trying to accomplish as a business.  Dreamhomesolutionsindy.com

Here's what we have done:

Walking into the Greenwood home is the main living area.  There used to be carpet all throughout the house starting in this room, however, the carpet originally was white, but if you can't tell from the pictures it's become a cream, off color white.  A little unexpected observation, but we couldn't stand the thought of it being that worn, so we took it up in every room.    We haven't decided the new color but we want to make it so that it can be livable and change will not be necessary no matter the changes the buyer decides to make.   In this room we didn't make any changes.  The windows are two years old, and the floor changes will come later.

Up next is the first bedroom.   Not much of a change here, just re-doing the carpet and closet.   The windows are two years old in every room.   We wanted to change this home into a three bedroom, but that main wall we would have to knock down, well it's sort of holding the house up, so we are keeping as a fourth and hopefully someone doesn't draw the short straw to get that room.  Just kidding!  It has a great view.

Then there is the main bathroom.   All new water lines have been ran throughout the house, and each bathroom will have a new toilet as well as a new tub.   We couldn't do much in the room considering the space for the kitchen and back room, therefore, we are redoing the walls, cabinet, sink, and again toilet and tub.

The kitchen is a bit different just walking in.   We have expanded the doorway by at least a foot.   We have taken all of the cabinets out and will be re-doing the floor and installing all new appliances. New cabinets and counter tops.   Originally we were going to keep the floor the same, however, when the house was built they did not tile where the appliances used to be, leaving us, or anyone, to either do the same thing, or change it out.  We have chosen to change it out.

The house is pretty much torn apart.  With the new plumbing lines needing to be ran, and new electrical in every part of the house as well.   Taking down every wall was the best option.  Not to mention the walls in the backroom were wood panels, so of course those needed to be changed.

My favorite part of the change is in the master bedroom.   We have expanded the bathroom to fit a double sink and garden tub with Shower.  Additionally we have added a walk in closet that you enter through the bathroom.   Let me tell you ladies, if you haven't experienced this before, it's wonderful.    We have a closet in our bathroom, and the space it provides is actually eye opening.   Imagine getting ready in the morning with your significant other.    Bumping into one another, waiting till one or the other is finished in either the sink area or the dressing area.  Well, here you have options, and space.   Mornings may never be the same.    With adding these specs, we had to move the plumbing which if you saw the website, saw the pictures of the plumbing pipes.  Those didn't look like that before we got to them.    We also had to stabilize the floor for the new closet.   Even though where this closet is going there used to be a toilet and a hallway closet,  there was not a sturdy floor underneath the carpet.

This sounds amazing doesn't it?  The pictures pretty much speak for themselves if you follow us on our website you will notice the everyday difference.  And unlike my blog, I do update the pictures daily.   If I am not at the house taking pictures myself, throughout the day my husband sends my updates, as well as at night we have a debrief meeting.

The workers on this house are amazing.  We will meet them soon enough.

Thanks again for tuning in.
