First Post

 Titled accordingly. I am starting this personal blog as I begin a transition from the booming oil and gas industry to real estate investment. I have a fondness for the roughnecking side of life. The money is fantastic and there are a variety of interesting people to work with. You have opportunities to travel and see the world. If you are a single person with very few responsibilities this is a very fun life.

However, I am looking for a different sort of fun. In less than 4 months, I will be getting married and she would LOVE to see me work closer to home. She also knows my passion has always been in real estate. I have made a conscious decision with her full support to make the transition. It will take some work and I know these things do not happen over night. So, as a sort of contribution to the BP page for helping me shorten my learning curve and also as a means of keeping me accountable for my progress...I have started this blog.

I hope others will benefit from reading about the accomplishments and the struggles I encounter while taking this leap. Please do not judge me on my blog writing abilities. This is a first for me and I hope my documentation skills improve over the course of this as well.
