What are you waiting for?

Life is short, fragile and does not wait for anyone. There will NEVER be a perfect time to pursue your dreams and goals - Unknown

What does this quote mean to you? To me, with real estate investing it means: GET BUSY...TODAY! If we look through the site we will find numerous forum post of people posting "I am about to get started doing ______ but I need to know ______ , _______ , and ______ first." I know, I've been there, done that. Let your imagination run wild filling in the blanks here. Enough worrying about what phase the moon should be in when you start your marketing.

So you ask, "But Lamar what if I get it all wrong and don't close any deals?"

What if you get if all wrong and STILL close some deals?

This business is about being persistent. Of course it requires skills and you will develop those over time. But if you get out there and play hard you are bound to swish a jumper, hit a homer, or score a TD eventually.

Keep learning and asking questions...but don't use that as an excuse for not getting your hands dirty right now!

  1. Thanks for reading guys! Hope it is helpful!

  2. I started educating myself in May of this year and joined the local REIA club. I listened to podcasts, read books, and now finally implementing my marketing strategy. I posted earlier, I can't believe I was not reading articles on BP earlier. I started reading the BP new investor guide a couple a couple days ago after hearing one of the podcasts. I am jealous of a lot of the people on here because I want that experience and knowledge to be an awesome wholesaler. BP is going to keep me honest for sure!

  3. This is a very timely post as I begin my real estate ventures. Thanks Lamar.

  4. Lamar, thanks for the kick in the butt.

  5. Great points Lamar. Even people that have more experience fall into this trap. I am just getting into doing my own direct marketing to sellers (Been able to do a good business mostly on MLS until early this year) and it has taken me WAY to long to get going. I'm doing some in house direct mail and after spending weeks refining my HUGE list I realized it isn't doing me any good until I start mailing. Sending out a couple hundred pieces at a time so I'm at least out there. Also talking about it on my BP Blog to keep my self accountable.
