Accountability

One of my areas that I've chosen to focus on in 2014 is accountability. I've been 'wanting' to be an investor for as long as I can remember. I've read all the books, gone to the seminars, and even bought a couple of investment properties. But where I really feel that I gotten off track is accountability. I've never made myself fully accountable to anyone besides myself, and we all know how easy it is to have the best of intentions in mind, but still allow yourself to slide by, week after week, month after month, and year after year. As I was moving out of the house I'm getting ready to renovate, I ran across a few day planners I've used in years passed. Flipping through the pages, I see that I was doing what seemed like the right things at the time (setting goals, looking at properties, studying), but I can see today that I'm really no further along that I was then. I allowed myself to skate by and never held myself accountable to the results I was getting.

So, as we enter another new year, I'm publicly going to hold myself accountable for my results, because I don't want to look back 3 years from now and have the same feeling that I had this week. My first step in doing so is posting the attached video. I'm going to document the progress of the rehab I'm currently working on so there will be a visual record of what progress I'm making (or not making). If, as you follow along on my progress, you feel I'm just spinning my wheels, please feel free to call me out on it. Sometimes I need a good swift kick in the ass. :)
