I Know What Club To Use Now!

For years, I golfed regularly at the country club three time a week. The good old days. I really wasn’t a good golfer being an 18 handicap. But it was fun, relaxing and just nice being with the guys. After a round we would talk about life’s events, our golf day and most of the times the match played today.

It always amazed me that the really good golfers remembered each and every shot they played. The details would be crisp and vivid. The could give you a detailed report of each shot played, the club used, the distance from the hole, how they hit and struck the ball, the wind conditions basically everything. I really thought it quite strange. How is this at all possible? Heck, I remember the 1 putt holes I had, maybe 2 times in a round or the greens hit in regulation or the pars. Geez, if I had a birdie I am buying a round of drinks for those in the clubhouse. But I guess these guys were on a different plane that I don’t understand until now!

Well it seems that I am that guy but not in golf but in this business. I bought 8 homes since January 1, 2013 and I remember all the details of each and every home. What I did right or yes wrong. What issues the house had that I knew about and ones that I found out as I went along. I knew what items I needed to fix or items that were good enough and would let go. Each house is etched into my mind where I will never forget. Well I hope to forget maybe once I hit about my 50th home. But I now understand why these golfers were the way they were and why I am the way I am.

I know real estate. I know construction. I grew up in the new home building business and over the 35 years that I have been doing that I did a limited few remodels using subs along the way. Now I am hand on doing a good portion of the work. I do find out new things all the time with homes but I know what I know and it is more than most. Maybe that is why I feel like the good golfers at the club but with homes. So I am in a good place of understanding. And I know what club to use next!
