The Beginning of My Investing Journey

I started this blog to hold myself accountable to my goals, which aren't quite specific yet. The idea is to be honest with myself and the world so that I can actually get out there and start investing in real estate. I know that without something holding me accountable then I'll just sit around, do nothing and simply fade into mediocrity.

I've always been interested in investing. When I was a teenager the idea of the stock market grabbed me and has never really let go. It wasn't until about 10 years later when I finally found some money to invest and I did it rather conservatively and then lost interest. I know a lot of you have the entrepreneurial mindset and love to chase after the next shiny thing and trust me, I'm no different. That's the reason why I'm starting this blog, to narrow my focus and really only look at one shiny thing, the one that I am interested in, and that's real estate investing.

Fast forward to the beginning of my real estate investing career, which hasn't really started yet. A few months ago I found BiggerPockets; I really had no knowledge about real estate investing and after consuming as much information as I could on the topic, I decided that it was for me. I posted a bit on the forums and networked a little with some of the other investors in my area, decided to go to an investors' meeting and then... I saw something else shining out of the corner of my eye and started chasing it.

I never made it to the meeting and never really talked to anyone about it again.

Until now. The allure of investing in real estate has brought me back to BiggerPockets and here I am, writing a blog post so that I focus on what's really important.

The upcoming posts on here will tell the story of how I started in real estate investing, how I created my plans and goals and will explain the specifics as to how I made my first deal. I hope someone becomes motivated while reading my story or, at the very least gets a good read out of these posts.
