Bad News is Good News in Real Estate

I tend to gripe and complain too much.  And I can be too negative.  I'll admit it.  It's a character trait that I am working on.  This trait was especially active in more former cubicle-world j-o-b life - and exacerbated by the fact that my personality just wasn't really a good fit for that type of career.

Anyway, I often see things differently in my Real Estate business(es).  I've learned to see difficulties as opportunities.  For example, I was recently talking with a loan officer at US Bank, and she told me that they would no longer be doing lot loans.  She was kind of down and out about it, but it actually made me smile.  The wheels started to turn, and I thought of the possibilities.  What if ........ what if it becomes harder for people (or builders) to buy lots to build new (or spec) homes on?  What if I could find a good piece of land with some road frontage, cut it up into lots, and sell those lots with owner-terms?  Hmmmmm.

Sometimes opportunity just jumps out and stares us in the face, and sometimes we have to look for it.  Either way, we have to have our eyes and ears open.
