Being consistent - Don't let anything get in the way of this

( Perhaps I bit of more than I could chew? I took the ceilings out of the entire upstairs of the property,on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. A hundred years of ash rubble and awaited me.

So this summer while on leave,( many of you know I am in the navy ) have been spent fixing up one of my properties.

I will put up another post about this and also some figures, lessons learned etc for my benefit as well.

The summer was extremely busy, we did a full renovation on a house we had owned for ten years. This was my first property and was bought as a home.

The main thing I wanted to share was regarding being consistent. I became completely engrossed with this full rehab and put all other aspects of real estate to one side.  I was getting up at seven getting ready and dashing off to the property to work a full day. By the time I came home I was exhausted.

As a result of this I was not engaging in my usual activity, reading, research and networking. If this type of behaviour goes on it can set your business back.

It's a good idea to set yourself everyday minimum goals, read an article, message a contact etc. If this means getting up an hour early or finishing early then that has to be done.

I was lucky that our first long distance rehabs have been delayed. Two multi family auction properties were due to become ours in August.  if this had been the case I would have struggled to manage everything, but I guess I would of realised this and planned accordingly. Sitting down and writing out clear goals for each property and specific tasks.

I guess what I am trying to say is you need to work out what goals and actions are important to you and what you need to carry out everyday in order to get the level of success you want. These things need to be part of your daily routine.

Successful people are consistent !

  1. I believe your right. Consistent actions  leading to my goals is the way. Thanks and I am adhering to this advice.  Everday do some action that gets me a property. Thanks.  Don
