first day of real estate classes
Today I am about to embark on my first class to becoming a Real Estate Agent. I am taking this path because I found in my real estate investing thus far that I need more knowledge on the market more as well as giving me a change to market myself as well. I will have some credentials other than the owner of a few properties that would make me look more professional. Plus having the MLS at my finger tips to search for properties as I please sounds perfect for me. At this stage of my real estate investing I am able to live for free, due to rental properties paying for my housing expenses. However, my 100k in school debt is a whole other story. So making some extra money as a Real Estate agent sounds great to me. Eventually I would like to make it my full time job while gaining more rental properties for my portfolio. Who else likes the idea of being able to retire early with a great portfolio that will pay for your expenses for life!!

I got my license here in New York last August, it's a breeze... It's mostly "common sense" stuff . The math is very basic but for the most part, it's a fairly easy exam to take.

Thank you for your advice. The course is definitely fast paced with a lot of learning. The teacher did give me some online study websites and I definitely plan on using them

I just went through the real estate training myself. A few pieces of advice for what it is worth.
#1. Take your exam as soon as possible after your classes are completed I was actually able to get a date before I finished the class.
#2. In my state we get a little supplement (well it is 80 pages) dealing specifically with the real estate laws locally. Make sure you read that supplement cover to cover if you get one.
#3. Most books offer practice tests on line. Avail yourself of these they will help a lot toward getting you prepared for the real exam.
