YOUR greatest advice of All TIme

This post is inspired by Joel Owens's response on Bigger Pockets to someone letting their J-O-B get in the way of their FUTURE....

They keep saying I will try to make it happen around this and this and 5,10,15 years go by and things are still the same.

We can all make excuses for why we can't do something. If you want something bad enough you will make a way for it to happen. The dreamers and the doer's. Which one will you be?

Joel's EPIC response made me think of something Andy Stanley has said time and time again over the years....

For everyone out there....myself included.... there is a FUTURE you!

There is the BEST version of the FUTURE you... and the MEDIOCRE version on the future you.

THINK about the BEST version of the FUTURE you writing yourself a postcard....

What would the BEST version of the FUTURE you tell you to DO TODAY or STOP DOING TODAY to get where you want to go TOMORROW?

What EXCUSES would the BEST version of the FUTURE you tell you to STOP making?

I'll go first...

BEST version of FUTURE Todd to current Todd-

- DELEGATE! DELEGATE! DELEGATE!

- STOP the B.S. busy work, manage outcomes NOT processes

- Drink Less, Exercise More

- Take a TIME OUT...Set Goals... Plan Your Work and Work your Plan!

- You have SO MUCH potential.... but you WASTE it because you LACK DIRECTION... FOCUS DUDE.... FOCUS!!

I could keep going but I'll stop for now, biggest thing I realized from this exercise of the mind was I need set some goal / priorities and then make a PLAN to achieve them.

It's kinda funny, "I am where I am" in Real Estate by happenstance. 

I just started doing it one day to make some extra money, it went well so I kept doing it, and some may say I have achieved some level of "success" along the way. FUTURE me says look at what you have done, but IMAGINE what you COULD do if you had a PLAN!

When other's ask me for advice, I ALWAYS tell them to MAKE A PLAN.... but I have a hard time taking my own advice. I make EXCUSES as to why TOMORROW is a GREAT day to make a plan.

I know the BEST version of the FUTURE me wants ME to stop making excuses, get a friend, find a business coach, or SOMETHING to put some DIRECTION in front of all my time, talent, and resources.
