Does one view grow your company?

Does one view grow your company?

Have you ever posted on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+, Tumblr, and Pinterest that you were expecting to get a ton of activity BUT all you got was one view? Did you feel like taking the post down or deleting it and staying away from doing any social media marketing?

Recently I’ve joined workshops and mentoring with Scott “The Note Guy” Carson and one of his main and pivotal teachings or business processes which he himself uses in his note buying company is taking advantage of social media for his marketing. With the help of my VA Steven, we started committing to developing a social media marketing schedule. In the beginning I was hesitant about leveraging social media to raise awareness of the company. Catching the eye of potential JV partners and other investors whom we could have a win-win relationship with in building wealth together through real estate notes investment seemed impossible to do as a brand new company.

We started sharing and posting content relevant to our journey in investing in 1st lien non-performing notes from banks, hedge funds and private equity firms. We had it on LinkedIn, BiggerPockets, ActiveRain, MeetUp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, and Pinterest and when we barely received a following of sorts, we decided to take it down and hold off on the social media activity. We were to a point disappointed, even began to think that only a substantial article would or could get the interest of the audience we hoped to engage with our posts. And mainly thought it was downright a waste of time or such an activity would not help generate income.

Then we got a nod from my mentor and people took notice, at that point we realized that people were actually reading our content.

We would get comments and feedback whenever we attended workshops and meetups, and have someone say “That was a cute image! Very memorable, easy to forget an average lender but not "NOTE MAN!" and “I love the title, Interesting blog” or “Well done and I'm looking forward to all your future posts”, regarding what we recently shared in all our social media accounts and real estate community forums that we have joined.

We still weren’t satisfied though. There is the notion that it’s all about gaining a million likes, views, comments and followers and engagement as a gauge that one’s post, social media content and activity is highly effective or pure gold. There’s a lot of material online preaching this. But is this all what it’s about?

If done correctly & you’re consistently putting out content it will generate exposure to your business.

Horizon Realty Investments has begun implementing the full use of social media as a marketing campaign strategy. Using direct marketing by sending out letters and emails to reach out to potential private money lenders, joint venture partners and leads for great properties for wholesaling.

We’re adding more vital elements to our marketing strategy to achieve more of our major goals and plans for growth this year. We’re building our business by networking with fellow real estate investors, realtors, and professionals. By posting content consistently and reaching out to them and the rest of the nation on LinkedIn, BiggerPockets, ActiveRain, Google+, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, on Tumblr and Pinterest.

Does it mean your postings aren’t cutting it if you don’t get any or more than one view on social media?

Does that one view matter?

No, it does not mean your postings aren’t cutting it if you don’t get any or more than one view.

And yes, that one view does matter.

Definitely. A ton of social media users find it great for their ego to get a hundred, thousands, up to a million views, likes, comments, +1s, hearts, favorites, retweets, and additional followers and connections to their posts and accounts. But that one view, that one single response or even no response at all will and can help your business.

You ask why and how?

That one view is just the right push you need to get the ball rolling, build your momentum and let’s not forget that one “like” can lead to many more. If not today, maybe tomorrow, which then leads to getting your business out there for everyone to know about and especially catch the attention of your target audience, exactly how social media works or what it was built to do.

What if we don’t get any responses?

Well not every social media user out there actually hits the like button, would follow every account they saw a post from which they enjoyed, or share your content. There are a lot of people out there who would simply consume the content and apply to their lives or businesses which they found of value from what you have shared.

The point is this – just continue putting content out, and there’s no right or wrong way to go about it. Just do something.
