Trying to fight the funk

Have you ever got off track of a working goal? Well that's what I'm experiencing now. closed my first wholesale deal about a month ago, and was planning my next mailing campaign then IT happened.

 I got off track.

I'm currently still working  a full-time job in management. And lately it hasn't been going so well. Turnover, excessive absenteeism, and insubordination left and right! So most of my free time has been spent combing the web for resumes seeking qualified applicants.

Before I knew it I missed my mailing deadline I set for myself, haven't touched my real estate exam books, or been driving for dollars! I've come to far to turn around now, but I admit I have lost some steam. I'm needing to find a balance between my full time duties, real estate duties, and baseball mom duties!

I'm sure many can relate to my current woes. I'd love to hear feedback. Are your currently in a funk or just got out of one?

  1. Thank you for this very honest post, Jessica. I think everyone feels the ups and downs that come with being an entrepreneur, and I'm sorry to hear that you're currently struggling. When this happens to my friends, my students, and even to me, I always recommend: take a day off, go for a walk in the park, hit the gym, and most importantly, remember WHY you started doing these things in the first place. (i.e. support your family? pay off your parents' mortgage? retire early? etc.)

  2. This happened to me before. I started working more hours due to being short staffed then the holidays came. Next thing I knew I hadn't mailed in 5 months. Are you printing and finding your own list? I  now have a list of 4k that I bought and still find other houses. If you're doing your own direct mail, stop it. Let a company handle it. It'll cost more, but it'll help you stay on schedule.

I was trying to do everything: find 100% of the houses myself and print the letters. Bad idea.
