Boise, Idaho: What is the Buzz Really About?

It started in 2012.  I was at the famous Bigger Pockets Real Estate Investing Summit in Denver, Colorado.  (yes, it happened, and it was life changing).  An esteemed speaker was on stage talking long term investment strategy.  He mentioned Boise.  My ears perked up. 

“Boise, Idaho”, he said. “If you all haven’t heard of Boise yet, you will soon.  Heaven on earth.”

I’m paraphrasing here, but you get the point.  One hundred or so attendees were surrounding me writing “Boise, Idaho” down on their notepads, making notes to look into Boise.  I l looked around.  Apparently, I was the only person in the Summit from Idaho, let alone Boise.  Others wanted to know about this utopia called Boise.  An idea percolated…and I added Realtor to my real estate investor/wife/mom hat.  It’s been a fun ride!

Chances are, you have heard about the little city of Boise at least once lately.

I receive many emails and calls each week with investors asking the question “why Boise?”  Investors looking to invest out-of-state have been hearing about Idaho and more specifically, the Boise area, but aren’t sure why Boise is that great to invest in.  In response, we are here to attempt to explain the “Buzz About Boise.”

I’ve lived in Idaho for nearly 30 years, and in Boise for over 20. My family and I have lived all over the Treasure Valley.

In this initial blog entry, we wanted to first, introduce ourselves and tell you why we wanted to start this blog.  Second, we want to give you some background into what has been said about Boise in the recent years.
