Rented with them for almost two years. The app to pay rent / request maintenance is top notch. They always responded quickly. The apartment is an old building that was given much needed updates by Smart Asset—the bathroom, kitchen, and walls.
I’m a whole different person.

I rented from this agency for about 16 months. In those months I have had to call maintenance more times than expected. Then they have the audacity to tell me I had to fix the plumbing in the house that they couldn't fix. Then when decided to fix the plumbing they left a big whole in the bottom of my sink which led to me paying to get a squirrel from out from under the sink. Then if that not enough, I pay a water bill which was fine with me but, I had to to pay half of the bill and it was only me downstairs and 6-7 people living upstairs from me. She was using my water for her washer until I got mine. I told them this and I still had to pay the water bill. So, I said enough is enough. I'm moving as soon as the lease was up. So, I moved, why they charge me for whole in the window seal that was already there and over $200 for the water bill that I already paid before I left. Be careful with this agency. You'll be coming out of more money than you expected. I will never come back. I will live on the street before renting from this agency again.

Smart Asset Realty has proven to be the most professional realty company I have dealt with! They are a professional and prompt management agency providing me & my family (daughter) with a beautiful & clean home.
The few "hiccups" we had when moving in were immediately taken care by professional and kind maintenance crews. They came in and did wonderful jobs on providing us with a lovely home.
I would recommend Smart Asset to anyone I know needing a decent home.

Looking into taking this company to court. For your safety, please do not rent an apartment with this company if you are disabled. They will kick you out and leave you homeless. Happened to my disabled S/O. They are supposed to be equal opportunity housing but they clearly are not. Also, I think it's interesting that they have to remove any reviews that they don't like 🤔... DO NOT RENT HERE!!!

My first lease day was 2.1.24 I paid my rent and deposit early allowing me access to the property early. Before I moved in I made them aware of various things wrong with the property that has yet to be addressed. Nothing has been done yet about the yard that has wood pieces with nails in them, the glass that cut me multiple times with shoes on or the dangerous wires hanging in the back of the home. Not to mention I can’t even use the closest the shelf fell on me and the pole was broken…update step on glass again with shoes on

Still waiting on maintenance request from February the city has been out 2x about the yard and we continue to step on glass inside the home that is coming in from the steps outside by the way I have not have any windows replace some of the back window fyi I paid April rent mid March

So the property owner sent someone to clean the yard. Initially the man stated that we needed to clean the yard. After conversing with him I advised him that the yard was in this state when I moved in and that I had contacted Smart asset about it among other things. I also let him know about other concerns I had in which Smart Asset stated that said that the owner had not approved of any request therefore canceling my maintenance request. The gentleman informed that owner had not been made aware of any request. So I showed the gentleman all of the canceled request dating back to 2.5.24 At this point I been jerked around so much I advised him to tell owner that he might wanna his business else where because Smart asset are not doing their job

The worst management! I only signed up with this management only 3 months but they don't want to follow what the owners want. They charge people unrelated charges such as maintenance, lawnmowers, lock replacements, and cleaning and they didn't even do and im myself do all these things and still get charged. They send a cleaning crew without any permission from the owners to the property to clean and take people's tools, and owner stuff for no reason. They let their crew trespass owner's property without getting permission from the owner. I have to call them to get an owner statement from them and When I ask them what kind of charges are being deducted from my rental money they can't even answer my question. Smart Asset has bad communication very hard to reach someone to explain! Also, they renew the lease to the tenant that I do not want to renew without notifying me! They were supposed to ask me but they reacted like a landlord! I gave them 30 days' notice but they terminated right away! I recommended to not use this Property Management. They take your money and don't listen to you if you hire them! Please read the review before hire them Thanks!

Everything about smart assist is terrible. I had to live without a working patio door because they never came out and fixed it. I also put in multiple maintenance requests and they never got back to me about any of them. My garbage disposal not working and having a clogged sink for over a year, my dishwasher was broken and no one ever fixed it or even attempted to come out and fix it. The garage door was often times not working and at one point my garage opener stopped working so I called to get a new one and had to continue to call for days until the maintenance man that lived two apartments down dropped it off after 5 minutes, why couldn’t that be done the first time? There was also multiple times when the driveway to the garage wasn’t salted and tenant’s car’s slid into the garage door. Every time I call them they handle all my problems and issues unprofessionally, I’ve never spoke to a manager although I’ve asked to on numerous occasions and was even told one would contact me. Currently I’m going through a long process of trying to move out, I informed them that I will be moving the first of July and wouldn’t be paying July’s rent because I would no longer live there and due to their unprofessionalism ignoring my Emails, texts, calls, and even the keys with a letter I left in the drop box they still have not updated my renting status. I recently got a notification that I’m late on rent and have a 5 days notice ( somewhere I’m no longer living and even returned the keys to). Yet they are still trying to have me pay the full month of July’s rent. The apartment I lived at had three different management companies while I was living there and this one was by FAR the worst one. If you planned to move somewhere that smart asset manages, I strongly suggest otherwise.
