Property Gate- Security
I am curious your thoughts on an issue I am having with a duplex rental. There is a gate at the drive way to enter the property but currently there is only a chain that closes the gate doors, over the top pole situation. Im looking for a solution for security for the home but its hard because the house is in a dangerous area and I want the tenants to be able to get in and out quickly. Both homes have had their doors kicked in so we've added additional safety there.
The gate is tall, and metal but was here previously so has no way to close it. I've thought about using the padlocks with fingerprints, codes etc. But if I needed to have a contractor come without me there that's not ideal. And I am also worried about if police of fire needed to access the home it would be best if they can also gain access quickly. The rest of the fencing is like 5 feet tall, but will most likely add new fencing at a later date. Thoughts? Am I over thinking this? Should I just leave it as is?
