I am starting out with a wholesale deal and a key skill I need is learning how to negotiate properly so I can close more deals. I am looking at pre-foreclosures to get motivated sellers. How do you recommend negotiating with these type of sellers?
Fail a lot. That's the only way to get better. With experience, your conversion rate should go up. Also try to keep track of what you did wrong when you fail. You can shorten the learning curve by educating yourself. I forget which number it is, but I think there was a podcast on negotiating. There is also some information on YouTube from a guy who did hostage negotiating for the FBI.
