Need an LLC to wholesale/flip/invest?

Is it worth constructing an LLC if you're planning to invest in real estate? Specifically, if you're actively reaching out to people via calls or mailings trying to find an opportunity, should you have an LLC or is it alright to just do everything under your own name?
