Hello, my name is Joshua Reid and I am interested in beginning a career as an investor. I only have a couple of questions, as I have no intentions on wasting anyone's time. I appreciate any and all advice!

1. I'm seeking my license to become a property manager. Would I have to be under a firm to manage a property?

2. If so, would that require me to pay fees on any other transaction, such as wholesale/Fix and flip?

My intention is to wholesale, only to snowball the profits to transition to fix and flip, only to continue the process until I am able to purchase and manage my own muli-family units one day!

I'd suggest you join a local REIA (NationalREIA.org) and ask local questions about licensing and fees. Find someone doing what you want to do and take them to coffee or lunch and ask away.

In most states you will have to work under a Broker for a couple years, then you can upgrade to your Broker's license and operate independently.

As to what fees you pay, that would depend on the agreement with the Broker.

Hey Joshua, this is entirely dependent on your particular state's laws + the particular brokerage you are with (if you indeed end up there).
