As alluded to in the Subject line, I'm crafting a business plan to form a Real Estate Investment Fund and will value any input the community is able to provide. When I hear about someone starting a "fund"... I start thinking 'prospectus', SEC, and heavy paperwork. I don't know CRE so maybe a fund is not intimidating to commercial players.
I'm looking into creating some type of fund also. I keep seeing "SEC" and "regulations" all over the place so I guess I need to read up on that.
Would these same rules and regulations apply if the investors entered the deal as a partnership (LP, LLP,LLC)?
