Investing in real estate with low funds living in NYC

I want to start investing in multi family homes but living in NYC there is not much inventory and what is available is insanely expensive. I’m willing to branch out to other areas but I’ve heard it’s not good to go too far

Ideally its always better to invest in your backyard but depending on where you live barrier to entry might be high.. I invest Out of state, all 6 of my properties are over 500 miles aways. Many investors successfully invest out state, it all depends on your risk tolerance and how determine you are..

@Raul R. Thank you for your input, I’m thinking of investing in a small town in PA, maybe a few hours away from me. Do you have any tips on how to get started in long distance rental property investing?
