Realtor screwed up my HUD deal
I found a HUD home in NJ open for owner occupants bid. Realtor broker for me submitted bid and was accepted by HUD. Wrote check to realtor company, signed all papers. Asking for 20day close. Realtor broker just called and said I lost the house because HUD did not receive the certified check in time.
I signed contract and wrote the check the same day by bid was accepted. My realtor must have forgotten or waited too long to send check. Now home went to backup bidder.
Question is... Do I have any recourse? Or am I just out? Can my realtor be held responsible or sued? Not looking for money, just wanted this house.
