Get Pre-approval and understand the process
Hi there,
I am looking to secure preapproval to purchase somewhere in California, or possibly Florida. Would anyone recommend a great mortgage lender?
Thank you,
Paulette
Hi @Paulette L. happy investing! I have worked a little with Prime Lending here in Ca (moving from bay area to central fl here soon actually). They were really responsive and helpful for me going after my first investment :)
Also if you look under the 'Network' tab, here on BP, you'll find 'Mortgage Lenders' who are more than happy to connect with you and walk you through the process.
Hope that is helpful and good luck on the journey!
Really depends on your situation. Can you tell us a little more, is this primary residence, investment, want to put 20% down?
Yes, I am looking to put 20% down on a home that's anywhere from $200k to $650k max, depending on where I decide to buy.

What type of loan @Paulette L.? Owner occupied? Investor? Second Home? Vacation Home? Short term or long term rental? Lots of lenders do different things.

First home and I intend to live in it. While I would love a loan that suits first-time homeowners, I'm not sure that makes me very competitive in California or where I'm also considering buying in Florida?
Hey @Paulette L.! We are excited for you. California is an amazing state to invest or just live in. We love our In-N-Out burgers. What were you looking to purchase in California?
Hi @Paulette L., happy house hunting! I'd be happy to walk you through the process and anatomy of a loan and get you some options to review as a live-in FTHB, maybe house hack. You don't need to put 20% down if you don't want to (lower down = better inflation hedge).
Movement Mortgage is a great firm and we have multiple locations in all states as needed:)
Hey there! Since you tagged SLO, I am hoping you are considering the fabulous Cali Central Coast! If so - let’s chat. I’m a realtor and also a local investor and I have a preferred lender I can recommend that is extremely well known and respected in the area. No joke - my last buyer’s offer got accepted almost entirely because my lender was the one who sent the pre-approval letter. Let’s connect! #teamcali

Talk to local banks and credit unions and see about their loan programs as they might have more favorable terms then a mortgage broker.
