Are they a First Time Home Buyer if they we're givin property through Probate?

This will be probably an easy question for mortgage professionals.
Here's my clients question

We don't know if we are first time home buyers! Actually, my girlfriend took over her dads property when he passed in 2004. There was no will, so she didn't inherit the property. It had to go through probate. She also payed off what was left of the mortgage about 2 years ago. Would she be considered a first time home buyer in this situation? She didn't buy the house, but she took it over and payed off the mortgage.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
