Bad appraisal from 2005 causing me not to be able to refinance

My wife and I bought our home in 2003 and refinanced in 2005.  Both times the home appraised as a Modular.  We attempted to refinance again this year and were informed by the mortgage company that it is now considered a manufactured trailer.  What recourse of action do I have considering we purchased under the impression that it was a "Modular" and would increase in value, but now it is a Manufactured that decreases.  I believe that both the mortgage broker and the appraiser that was used for the initial purchase and refinance in 2005 have passed away.  Is there anyway, after 15years of living there, that we can walk away or under these circumstances do mortgage companies ever just forgive the loan since it was issued under false pretenses?
