Best way to find workers for my house is by browsing Yelp?

The best way to find landscapers, handyman or contractor is by browsing through Yelp. Am I wrong?

Seriously, I own a single family house in San Marcos,CA. I need a landscaper to dig a dry river bed and lay down rock covering. Is there a forum to find the best man for the job?
