Are Bigger Pockets Featured Blogs Allowed to Astroturf?
I received an email with this catchy title from the featured blogs service of BP, Tired of Ineffective Mailers? It’s Time to Bring Your Marketing Into the 21st Century. Upon reading the post I felt like I had been fooled to read an advertisement... Something was up.
The author works for the company they are recommending aggressively in the blog post but does not disclose their relationship. This appears to be an ad disguised as a blog post, that was featured by BP and emailed out to members. This post pushes very close to being considered astroturfing and doesn't feel in line with the spirit of transparency.
Is this behavior something that slipped through the cracks or is this acceptable by current BP standards. I left the website yesterday with the sad feeling I've felt at many real estate seminars in the past. Feeling sold to under the guise of education.
