Supply and Demand!
Blame the strong economy and low unemployment, I'm sure there are some local politicians available to solve those problems.

What do you propose be done?
It's a sellers market here in PA. I don't even like being a realtor right now because my issue is that, since I've worked with investors when I 'wholesaled', I have the eye of an investor, and walking into these homes, I immediately get a runny mouth, and of course the buyers thank me for pointing things out, but I'll admit, I'm more successful at wholesaling than being an actual agent. I thought I was accomplishing something when I let Real Estate Commission rob my bank account of all the fees, and I still make more money wholesaling, than actual selling.
If you move somewhere that sucks home prices are a lot less =)
