How do i find out which agent listed a property last.

I met with a seller today who owns a vacant house two hours from where he lives. He doesn't remember the lockbox code and we are not completely sure who put the lockbox on the house or how to contact them. How can we get the code or contact the person who put it on? Is there a code that most agents use as a default ?

The seller should have an extra key. If it is not on the market anymore, the seller should at least remember the name of the realty company that he hired to sell his house. If the lockbox is still there, there should also be an agent's sign in the front yard with a phone number and name on it. Otherwise, the seller can break into his own house and change the lock on the door. Sounds fishy to me that he is having this problem.
