Interested in Rental properties in Chicago

I currently live in NW Chicago suburb and have a full time job, and I am not handy at all.

I am interested in buying a rental property (or properties) in Chicago. Since I am not handy, I don't plan to manage it myself.

I have heard south side is where the money is at. I am comfortable with a cash purchase if it's less than 100K.

I am a newbie, so any suggestions are appreciated!
