Looking through the listings I notice some homes on market for 3 + years .
My first thought is there must be something wrong, and I pass it by.
Wondering if others see it as a chance to buy at good value.. or like me , assume it’s a money pit.
Always worth looking into.
You won't know until you check it out. Chances are there is some reason that it's been on the market that long. However, that reason may be something as simple as the sellers were not motivated to sell and were not priced realistically until now. I've seen this on some houses where sellers don't necessarily need to sell. They'll put it on the market and "see what happens."
Check the property out and if you're interested offer a number that makes sense to you. The current price might well be the reason it has languished on the MLS.
Very interesting responses - thanks!
Definitely take a look for yourself. If its anything it's a learning opportunity to look at another home.
@Marci Stein You can only make Lemonade after you buy some Lemons.
Go see the properties and make offers, however ridiculous the offers may be.
You just never know and you may learn something along the way!
